        • Hi, I’m Julia Suh.

I am an urban strategist, social innovator and engagement specialist.

          Let's work together
        • I work across the fields of urbanism, community building, social impact and technology with city makers to define and solve complex problems through design thinking and human-centred design approaches. I can help you with:

          • Community and stakeholder engagement, research and co-design
          • Community investment tracking and strategy
          • Tech-enabled community building and placemaking
          • Customer journey mapping, place and customer experience strategy and action plan
          • Speaking and mentoring

I have had the privilege of working with some of the most open-minded property professionals, community housing providers, corporations and local councils, to name a few: Green Building Council of Australia, Stockland, Hume Community Housing Association, Link Housing, Charter Hall, City of Gold Coast and Hunter’s Hill Council. Please get in touch to discuss your next project.

civic leadership | social trust | employment pathways | beautiful neighbourhoods

          Paper Plain

Design thinking hub for city makers.

Paper Plain helped its clients tackle complex problems by taking them through a creative process and co-designing solutions.

Drawing from multiple disciplines including social impact, technology, engagement and urbanism, Paper Plain provided consulting services and digital products to help property developers, governments and community development organisations to optimise their investment in community spaces, programs and engagement; and support community leadership to develop and be sustained.

          Small Shift

Invitation for everyone in every neighbourhood to take small shifts.

Small Shift was a social enterprise that trained and inspired communities to create beautiful, meaningful and unique public spaces in their neighbourhood. Small Shift focused on:

          1. Consulting: strategic placemaking, activation and community engagement services through the lens of social inclusion for the property industry, community housing providers and government.
          2. Delivering DIO (Do-It-Ourselves) activation projects: supporting locals to re-imagine and create their shared spaces together in their neighbourhood as a vehicle to build community resilience and social trust; and creating employment pathways for people facing barriers to employment.
